Toyota Increases U.S. Transmission Production

Toyota will increase annual production capacity of six-speed automatic transmissions from approximately 400,000 to 520,000 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia (TMMWV).  The increase begins this November and will be completed by July 2013.  The approximately $45 million expansion will create about 80 new jobs, bringing total employment to approximately 1,200 TMMWV team members.

Bodine Aluminum also will add capacity to support TMMWV by providing transmission cases and housing parts.  The Bodine foundry will add approximately 25 new jobs and invest more than $10 million at its Troy, Mo., plant.
