Summer Time Fun!

School is winding down and Memorial Day is less than two weeks away, which means summer is just around the corner. With that in mind we put together a short list of things to do in the area this summer. If we left something out, or know of a great event going on, please feel free to share what we missed!

So first things first, we would like to invite everyone to our customer appreciation day on Saturday June 18th from 10:30am-2:30pm. The Frederick Police Department K-9 unit will be joining us and performing a K-9 demonstration at 11:00, the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District will be here with their safety house, our friends from Little Angel Pony and Pals will bring their petting zoo, plus a few more surprises just for you! Did you know that the High Plains Library District puts on a great summer reading program for kids, 0-18 years old? This summer’s theme is “2016 Summer Reading Adventure” and there are some great (Free!) events to attend. To check out this great program click here. While these events are free, some do require preregistration.



The City of Longmont keeps an updated calendar of all events that are happening in the city. Check it out to find your next adventure.

One of the best things summer brings are outdoor concert series, and Longmont is no exception. We know of two, Longmont Recreation & Golf hosts a 4 concert series at different parks through out the summer. Dates and times can be found here.

Have you heard of Prospect Sound Bites? This concert series kicks off Monday, May 30th and runs every Monday through out the summer. The fun kicks off at 5:00pm with the opening of the numerous food trucks, music gets started at 5:30pm. The concerts are held at Prospect Park located at 100 Year Party Ct and Tenacity Dr. If you happen to go to a concert, stop on by and say hi! Once again we are proud sponsors of this event.

Open for its 20th season ArtWalk Longmont is another great free event put on by the city. Enjoy free live music, explore downtown business, and discover your local artists. This is a great family event that everyone should check out at least once. ArtWalk happens 3 times during the summer, so make sure you check the dates so you don’t miss out!



Food and Flick Fridays are back! Have you been to this event? Kick off the weekend right! Enjoy a movie under the stars, and don’t worry about dinner, come grab a bite from one of the many food trucks.While you wait for the sun to go down and the movie to start enjoy live music and plenty of games and activities for the kiddos. Check the link for movies, dates, locations, and which food trucks will be at the event.

Strike 3 you’re out! The 3rd Annual Community Softball Tournament gets under way Saturday, June 4th at 8:00am. Come cheer local business, organizations and neighborhoods in this friendly co-ed tournament. A traveling trophy and bragging rights are at stake in this tournament.

Looking for something to do on the 4th of July? Why not head down to Miners Park and join in on the fun at4th at Firestone? Starting with a 5k/10k first thing in the morning and ending with fireworks at night, you would be hard pressed not to find something to enjoy. Don’t forget to stop by the car show too! This is another great event that we are sponsors of, so stop on by and say hi!



Everyone is going to be hoping for good weather June 24-26th. Why? Frederick-in-Flight is scheduled to take place. The hot air balloons need good weather to be able to fly. Check out all the details in the link above. We think the Saturday evening glow party would be an amazing sight to see.

Art comes in all forms, and artists use different tools to express themselves. Want to see some art in action? (bring a pair of ear plugs if you come) Check out Chainsaws and Chuckwagons. This 3 day event starting July 20-23 is a great way to see art being created. The link has pictures of last year’s winners if you need a preview.

Come meet your neighbors in this year’s Community BBQ Tour put on by the town this fully catered meal gives residents a chance to meet their neighbors, Board of Trustees, and town staff. The link provides dates, times and locations.


There is always something to do in Erie! Check this calendar of events to see what is going on in the town. From free concerts in the park, Erie Brew Fest, National Night out, we are sure you can find some fun this summer!
