What to do around town this fall?

The kids are back in school, the night air has a slight chill in the air and our Broncos are back at it. Fall is one of our favorite times of the year because there is so much to do! We picked a couple events around us to help inspire you to “Let’s Go Places” and create adventures of your own.

If we missed an awesome event or place to go, leave a comment below! We would love to hear your suggestions.

For some people fall can only mean one thing, Friday Night Lights! Our high schoolers  in the St. Vrain Valley School District are back on the football field again. We have included links to the area’s high schools football schedule so you can catch your favorite team.

Erie High School Frederick High School Longmont High School Lyons High School Mead High School  Niwot High School  Silver Creek High School Skyline

Maybe football isn’t your thing, and you want to get out of town for a bit. Why not take a drive and check out the beautiful fall colors of the aspens? If you happen to go and take some great pictures, feel free to share them with us! We love to see where you have gone on your adventures.  Worth nothing, if you are thinking about heading up to Rocky Mountain National park, please check with CDOT before heading out. Highway 34 is getting some much needed road and bridge repairs on sections of the road that was damaged in the flood of 2013.

Have you checked out the local Farmer’s Markets? This is the best time of year! We have a great one out at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. Boulder County Farmer’s Market at the Boulder County Fairgrounds is on Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm. They will be open until November 19, 2016. They are also a producer only farmer’s market. Meaning that farmer you are buying your tomatoes from grew that plant themselves.

Firestone is hosting its annual Art and Music Show again. Local artists will have their art work displayed for the month of October at the Carbon Valley Library. The reception will be October 8th from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Another great event at the Carbon Valley Library is their Family Night. The first Thursday of every month the library will show a family friendly movie. The event is from 6:00pm-7:30pm. October’s movie is “The Angry Birds Movie”

What is fall with out Halloween? The Firestone Police Department hosts a Halloween Safe Night. This is a great event to take your kids trick or treating. The event will have lots of games and activities as well!

So there you go! A little snap shot of what’s going on this fall. We  wish and your family a great fall!
